The 2022 Cabernet Franc Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is based on 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a very Franc nose of bright red and blue fruits as well as sappy flowers, underbrush, and tobacco. This carries to a medium to full-bodied 2022 with terrific purity, a broad, layered mouthfeel, nicely integrated tannins, and outstanding length. It’s a gorgeous wine that has the riper style of the vintage while still staying fresh, balanced, and nicely structured. Drink bottles over the coming 10-12+ years, although I wouldn’t be surprised to see it keep longer.
