Winemaking Philosophy

We strive to create the most natural, elegant, balanced expression possible in Amici Cellars’ wines. We follow the belief that winemaking begins in the vineyard; a blend of the soil, climate and people who farm it. Our winemaking team is fastidious and precise in handling each vineyard, each vintage. There is no never and always; there are no blanket assumptions.

“Our goal is to maintain the distinct character of both grape and vineyard,” Lead Winemaker Anthony Biagi says. We achieve this through individual fermentations and aging protocol for each lot before blending. “Our philosophy is about making decisions based on what the vintage and the vineyard tell us,” adds Winemaker Dante West.

As we work to make wines that are delicious now and will age for decades to come, we also strive to leave a positive impact on the local and global environment. As stewards and vintners, our long-term economic success relies upon the health and wellbeing of the land we live in and enjoy.
