Vineyard Notes
The 200-acre Hyde Vineyard, considered one of California’s Grand Cru vineyards, includes one of the oldest blocks of Chardonnay grapes. Carneros has always been considered prime land for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The shallower soil and cooler climates of Carneros result in smaller vines, grapes that turn into brighter, more ethereal wines.
Winemaking Notes
The 2023 Hyde Pinot Noir is a vibrant expression of its cool-climate origins. On the nose, it opens with high-toned fruit, delicate violets, and early-season blackberry, offering a lifted and floral aromatic profile. The palate is lively and juicy, brimming with ripe strawberry and a touch of star anise, all carried by a fresh acidity that adds energy and precision. Elegant and expressive, this wine finishes with brightness and finesse.
