Vineyard Notes
Missouri Hopper, one of Napa’s oldest vineyards, consists of 45 contiguous acres on the famed Oakville Bench in the Napa Valley. Purchased by Charles Hopper and given to his daughter Missouri in 1877, today Missouri Hopper is owned by the Beckstoffer family, and the fruit from this vineyard is some of the most sought after in the Napa Valley. Wines from the Missouri Hopper Vineyard consistently display the complex profile of power with refinement that is a hallmark of the celebrated Oakville Bench appellation.
Winemaking Notes
The 2022 Missouri Hopper Cabernet Sauvignon is both powerful and polished. The nose reveals classic camphor, Bordeaux-like herbal notes, red fruit, and currant bud. On the palate, the wine is super supple and rich, with flavors of Bing cherry, ripe plum, and hoisin, transitioning from red fruit on the nose to black fruit and cocoa on the palate. A firm tannic backbone provides structure, while the mouthfeel remains lush and inviting.
