Vineyard Notes
Located on the Napa side of the Carneros AVA, Hyde Vineyard is truly one of California’s grand cru Chardonnay vineyards and a site that parallels the quality and prestige of our single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon portfolio. Carneros has always been considered prime land for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and the 200-acre Hyde Vineyard includes one of the oldest blocks of Chardonnay grapes. The shallower soil and cooler climates of Carneros result in smaller vines and grapes that turn into bright, ethereal wines.
Winemaking Notes
The 2021 Amici Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay is a stunning example of Carneros and displays classic Wente clone characteristics. On the nose, it reveals a captivating blend of aromas, including lemon oil, wet stone, white flower, and spearmint. A complex range of flavors emerge on the palate, from luscious white chocolate and earthy white truffle, to crisp Asian pear. This beautifully balanced and textured wine concludes with a long, satisfying finish that will leave you wanting more.
