“One heck of a great finish”

Vineyard Notes

The Amici Cellars Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon is a decadent, delicious wine grown in one of the highest-altitude vineyards in Oakville. The organically farmed Oakville Ranch is tended by legendary organic grapegrower Phil Coturri, and the site’s elevation, along with its signature red soils, leads to a rich and powerful wine.

Moslty Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon (there is 9% Cabernet Franc), the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch offers up a dark, mineral-laced, chocolaty vibe as well as a deep, full-bodied, concentrated style on the palate. Coming from a great vineyard and aged 22 months in new barrels, it has a great sense of freshness, ripe tannins, and one heck of a great finish.

Vinous Media

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch is another stellar wine in this range. Deep and layered, the 2019 builds so effortlessly with time in the glass. Inky red/purplish fruit, blood orange spice and lavender all take shape in this deeply satisfying Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Wine Independent

A blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc, the 2019 Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet-purple in color. It leaps with vibrant redcurrants, black raspberries, and blackcurrant pastilles scents plus rose oil, crushed rocks, and fragrant earth. Full-bodied, it is tightly wound and vibrant with loads of energy, fine-grained, long and perfumed.

Wine Advocate

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch Vineyard is a blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, the nose is redolent of warm black plums, black raspberries and blackcurrant pastilles with touches of lavender, dried Provence herbs and tilled earth. Full-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-coating black fruits with a firm, chewy texture and lively line of freshness, finishing long with an herbal lift. (Tasted as a barrel sample.)

James Suckling

Aromas of dark fruits, tobacco, mocha, earth, walnuts and praline. Full-bodied with chewy tannins and fresh acidity. Rich and velvety with a flavorful, long and polished finish. Lingering blue and black fruit. Lots of blue fruits at the end.
