Vineyard Notes
The 2016 Amici Cellars Old Bull Trail Cabernet Sauvignon is a concentrated, savory wine grown just a half-mile north of Amici Cellars’ winery and tasting room. The small Old Bull Trail vineyard was planted by Amici owner John Harris to his favorite Bordeaux varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The vineyard’s soil composition—decomposed bedrock and igneous rock—along with its southeastern exposure come together to create a bold, decadent Cabernet Sauvignon.
Winemaking Notes
“The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Bull Trail Estate is composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak. It has a very deep purple-black color and comes strutting out of the glass with notes of blackcurrant pastilles, baked plums and mocha with touches of fruitcake, black soil and chargrill. Big, rich and concentrated, the generous fruit is framed by ripe, grainy tannins, and it finishes long and savory.” – Wine Advocate
