Such finesse and balance”

Vineyard Notes

Morisoli Vineyard consists of 53 contiguous acres on the famed Rutherford Bench in the Napa Valley. Gary Morisoli is the fourth generation of his family to grow grapes on this historic property, which has been family-farmed for over 100 years. Primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruit from this vineyard is some of the most sought after in the Napa Valley. Surrounded by Staglin Family Vineyard, Scarecrow, Joseph Phelps Vineyards and Inglenook, Morisoli Vineyard fruit exhibits classic “Rutherford Dust” qualities and rich Cabernet Sauvignon character.

Winemaking Notes

This 2014 Amici Cellars Morisoli Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine that is at once complex and muscular, while elegant and beautifully balanced. With its flavors of dark fruits, dusty cocoa and hints of minerality, the wine fully expresses the distinctive characteristics and terroir of the celebrated Morisoli Vineyard.

The wine shows intense aromas of black raspberry, currant, and fresh damson plum supported by complex notes of mocha and baking spice. It is broad-shouldered and muscular on the palate, but with lively fruit and complex spice to complement the silky tannins and dusty texture on its long, seamless finish.

Wine Advocate

“From the famous Morisoli Vineyard in Rutherford, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Morisoli Vineyard comes from this well-respected site close to the iconic Scarecrow Vineyard. Extremely well-crafted, this intense purple-colored wine offers notes of creosote, graphite, black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, cedar wood and a touch of vanillin in a full-bodied, opulently fleshy style. This sexy wine should be drunk over the next 15-20 years.”
