Vineyard Notes

Morisoli Vineyard consists of 53 contiguous acres on the famed Rutherford Bench in the Napa Valley. Gary Morisoli is the fourth generation of his family to grow grapes on this historic property, which has been family-farmed for over 100 years. Primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruit from this vineyard is some of the most sought after in the Napa Valley. Surrounded by Staglin Family Vineyard, Scarecrow, Joseph Phelps Vineyards and Inglenook, Morisoli Vineyard fruit exhibits classic “Rutherford Dust” qualities and rich Cabernet Sauvignon character.

Winemaking Notes

Release Notes:

Aromas open with deep black fruits, hints of mocha, and flinty minerality. On the palate, this full-bodied wine shows focused flavors of cassis, wild blackberries, and dark plums accented by black olive and dusty earth. Framed by firm but refined tannins, this wine displays the power and elegance that is so characteristic of this vineyard.

February 2021 Notes:

“Just awesome. Fruity, beautiful, great wine! YUM, great mouth feel, this is fantastic and dense. Sweet, juicy and nice.”

The dense ruby/purple-colored 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Morisoli from Rutherford boasts a stunning perfume of blueberries, black raspberries, acacia flowers and spice. This rich, layered 2010 is the most complete and impressive wine of this quartet. Still youthful, it will benefit from several more years of bottle age, and should drink well for two decades. Impressive!
