2009 Amici Morisoli Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
About the Wine: This 2009 Amici Cellars Morisoli Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine that is at once complex and muscular, while elegant and beautifully balanced. With its flavors of dark fruits, dusty cocoa and hints of minerality, the wine fully expresses the distinctive characteristics and terroir of the celebrated Morisoli Vineyard. 100 cases produced.
Winemaker Notes: This is a complex, concentrated wine which exhibits deep, layered flavors of coffee, rich cocoa powder and round notes of blackberry and dark plum. A hint of minerality and dusty earth accent the flavors of dark fruits, building to a full-bodied, layered finish. -Joel Aiken

Vineyard Notes: Morisoli Vineyard consists of 53 contiguous acres on the famed Rutherford Bench in the Napa Valley. Gary Morisoli is the fourth generation of his family to grow grapes on this historic property, which has been family-farmed for over 100 years. Primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruit from this vineyard is some of the most sought after in the Napa Valley. Surrounded by Staglin Family Vineyard, Scarecrow, Joseph Phelps Vineyards and Inglenook, Morisoli Vineyard fruit exhibits classic “Rutherford Dust” qualities and rich Cabernet Sauvignon character. 2009 Vintage: Several spring storms in 2009 allowed the vines to enter growing season vibrant, healthy and well-hydrated. A near perfect summer, with moderate, consistent warm weather and no extended heat spikes, allowed the fruit to slowly ripen to perfection, deepening color and increasing the flavor complexity of the finished wine.

Product Reviews:95 Points "Another successful Cabernet from Amici, who turns to this esteemed vineyard for sourcing. It shows real pedigree and finesse, and it’s instantly appealing for its soft tannins and complex cherry, red currant, cocoa and spice flavors. Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s Amici’s best Cabernet of the vintage, and this is as upscale as Napa Cabernet gets.” --S.H., Wine Enthusiast, October 2012
"Aromas of ripe berry and crushed rock are both supple and firm, turning graceful and refined on the finish while maintaining focus. Drink now through 2020." --J.L., Wine Spectator, November 2012
"Very fine quality. Luscious and complex, this is an excellent wine: very ripely flavored (cassis, black licorice, plum jam), smooth and long on the palate, with a very persistent finish. Delicious. 4+ stars." --R.W., Restaurant Wine, January 2013
